The George Mason University ice hockey team capped off an incredible 2016 season adding the Commonwealth Cup trophy after a thrilling 2-1 victory over VCU on Saturday night. Tyler D’agostino scored the game-winning goal with 28 seconds left in the third period on an assist from Nick Baker. The goal gave Mason it’s second trophy in the past 10 days. Just days removed from winning the BRHC championship, the Patriots sent long-time coach Steve Hyjek off with a thriller in his final game at the helm.
