February 12th, 2016 — With their final season of high school soccer looming, five Cougars have already committed to play at the next level: Carson Jeffris at James Madison University; Alana Moore at University of Connecticut; Tess Sapone at University of Florida; Sam Weaver at University of South Carolina Upstate; and Susanna Weisskopf at Longwood University.
Last season both the boys and girls teams made Regionals, with the boys team making it to the semifinals while the girls lost in the first round.

For the boys, they will attempt to get back to championship form after winning the Concorde District in 2014, but falling in the final last season. In 2013, Oakton made it to the state semi-finals marking the best season for this senior class.
Jeffris, the only male of the five signees, committed to James Madison from the CAA who finished 5-10-4 this past season (NCAA holds their soccer season in the fall). JMU is the closest university of all commitments from Oakton.
The girls senior class has never made it past the first round of Regionals during their career with the Cougars. With the senior leadership on this team there will be a great chance for them to make a postseason run.
Moore, who committed to Connecticut, joins one of the top programs in the country who went 19-4 in the fall and made the 3rd Round of the NCAA tournament. At Florida, Sapone will join the reigning SEC Champions who also made the NCAA 3rd Round, another top notch program for women’s soccer.
Weaver will head south to play at USC Upstate and Weisskopt joins the central Virginia school of Longwood.
