SPARKS, Md. — US Lacrosse today named Synthesis Multimedia Productions as the live-streaming partner for the 10th annual US Lacrosse Nationals, set for Aug. 2-5, 2018, in Frederica, Del.
Synthesis Multimedia Productions will stream the 14U, 13U and 12U boys’ and girls’ championship games Aug. 5 from DE Turf Sports Complex. The streams will be available free of charge at facebook.com/uslacrosse, twitter.com/uslacrosse and youtube.com/uslacrosse. Start times will be announced at a later date.
“We’re familiar with the high-quality broadcast Synthesis Multimedia Productions generates, having worked with them on several of our previous events,” Kim Rogers, director of events at US Lacrosse, said. “We’re pleased to enhance the US Lacrosse Nationals experience in a way that will allow family and friends of players to see the tournament finals if they’re not able to make the trip.”
The live streams will feature four 1080p, high-definition (HD) camera angles, instant replay, live scoring, live clock, live aerial footage (drone), and graphics, along with play-by-play, color commentary and sideline reporting for a television-style viewing experience fans have come to expect from Synthesis Multimedia Productions. On-demand viewing of each game will be available on the three platforms shortly after the conclusion of play on each field.
“We are excited to team up again with US Lacrosse to help expand the reach of the sport and this event, in particular, to viewers across the globe,” said B.J. Koubaroulis, CEO of Synthesis Multimedia Productions and founder of DMVStream.com. “As lacrosse continues to grow, the expectations for a first-class viewing experience online have also continued to expand. We will produce this youth event with the same energy and passion we have put toward other broadcasts at the high school, collegiate, pro and national team level.”
Youth teams across the country can earn points towards a berth in the US Lacrosse Nationals by competing in one or more qualifying tournaments, each of which rewards top-performing squads with points to be used in determining bids. Upwards of 50 qualifiers were announced for the 2017-18 youth season, including dozens between now and mid-July.
In each division, the 16 teams earning the most points at the conclusion of the qualification period will punch their tickets to the 2018 Nationals. In the girls’ 13U and 14U divisions, Igloo (N.Y.) and Yellow Jackets 2022 Blue (N.Y.), respectively, earned automatic bids based on their victories in the 2017 championships.
