December 26th, 2016, 12:00 p.m. –High school basketball is just getting started here in the Washington, D.C. region. Week 3 saw a slew of fantastic plays, including great passes, big dunks and game-winners.

Here are the Top 10 plays from the weekend:

No. 10Crusaders forward Cyril Ogbuagu slams home the missed free-throw in Riverdale Baptist’s 73-58 victory over the Virginia Academy.

No. 9: McNamara Sophomore Forward Makhi Mitchell drops the hammer with the left hand in the third quarter. Despite the thunderous dunk, the Mustangs lost to Bishop Ireton 66-63.

No. 8Wooton’s Mason Romm lofts the ball up and Kwame Frimpong skies in to finish the play with a riveting two-hand dunk.  The Patriots went on to beat the Churchill 59-45.

No. 7Gonzaga senior point guard Chris Lykes was able to make a circus layup over the taller Georgetown Prep defender in the 4th quarter of the Eagles 70-48 win over Georgetown Prep

No. 6Champe’s Dom Fragala continues his hot start to the season, outscoring Manassas Park by himself 38-37 in the Knights’ 89-37 victory.

No. 5Whitman guard Alex Sanson heaves up a prayer from halfcourt and nails it to beat the 3rd quarter buzzer.  The Vikings would go on to beat Bethesda Chevy-Chase 57-49.

No. 4Herndon Guard Liam Harrington flips a pass in traffic that finds Joel Maroney. Maroney then posterizes an Annandale defender as the Hornets won 76-62

No. 3With the Saxons trailing by 1 and time running out, Olivia Augustini finds a wide-open Sarah Van Houten who makes the layup to give Langley the 48-47 victory over O’Connell.

No. 2With time running down, Meade guard Jeremy Washington drives to the rim and forces up a shot that beats the buzzer as the Mustangs shock the Long Reach 60-58.

No. 1In the final seconds with the wildcats trailing by one, guard Quest Delaney takes a 3-pointer and after clanging off the back iron, he gets the shooter’s roll to give Arundel the 48-46 victory over Centennial!
