September 5, 2016, 12:00 p.m. — High school football has kicked off for all teams in the Washington, D.C. metro region. Week 1 saw a slew of fantastic plays, including lengthy touchdown runs, great passes and game-winners.
Here are the Top 10 plays from the weekend:
No. 10: Patriot’s Darius Robertson returns a fumble for a defensive touchdown.
No. 9: Madison’s Nick Conforti maintains possession of the bobbled pass for a touchdown.
No. 8: Oxon Hill’s Jy’ir Ingram returns a fumble for a defensive touchdown to secure the Clippers’ victory.
No. 7: Friendship Collegiate’s Christian Braswell jumps the route for an interception and returns it all the way for a defensive touchdown.
No. 6: Paul VI’s James Duran bobbles the kickoff but returns it all the way for a special teams touchdown.
No. 5: Herndon’s Adam Kucick finds the open hole for a 97-yard touchdown run.
No. 4: North Point’s Jemichael Jones reverses field and breaks multiple tackles to find the endzone.
No. 3: Sherwood’s Travis Levy takes the pitch from his own endzone and avoids several tackles to go 99 yards for the touchdown.
No. 2: Bullis’ Tucker Strachan scores the ten-yard touchdown with 38 seconds remaining for the comeback win against Pallotti.
No. 1: South County’s Jack McDaniels drops the pass over two defenders to connect with Dillon Spalding for the game-winning 60-yard touchdown in the comeback win over Briar Woods.
