March 6th, 2016, 12:00 p.m. –High school basketball is just getting started here in the Washington, D.C. region. Week 13 saw a slew of fantastic plays, including great passes, big dunks and game-winners.

Here are the Top plays from the weekend:

No. 10: Hylton senior guard Joshua Jones gets the steal and the score to cut the Warhawks lead to two in the VA 6A state quarterfinal. Hylton scored the next seven points to complete the comeback and beat Madison 65-60

No. 9: W.T. Woodson guard, Jason Aigner, drills a deep 3-pointer from NBA range just before the end of the first quarter. Aigner led the team with 17 points and the Cavaliers went on to win 45-43, advancing to their first ever state title game.

No. 8With a little over three minutes left in the game, St. John’s senior guard Aisha Sheppard is able to shake the defender and knock down the big shot that helped secure their 58-52 win over Paul VI and the championship.

No. 7With Gonzaga comfortably ahead in the 4th against Paul VI, Chris Lykes puts on a show with the flashy reverse lay-in as the Eagles beat the Panthers 68-55

No. 6: St. Andrew’s forward Anthony Duruji makes his return to the top plays with a monstrous alley-oop dunk. Despite the play and a 26 point effort from Duruji, the Lions were defeated by Maret 79-60.

No. 5: Wilson guard Ayinde Hikim drives to the rim, lobs the ball over a Gonzaga defender and Ricardo Lindo skies in to finish off the alley-oop! Despite the play the Tigers lost to the Eagles 64-59.

No. 4With Eleanor Roosevelt trailing Bowie by 2 and less than a minute left, Gus Okafor gets the offensive rebound and finishes the putback while being fouled! Okafor made the free throw and the Raiders went on to win 62-57.

No. 3Less than 10 seconds into the game, Potomac (Md.) guard Ryle Burley throws up the lob and Travis Henson throws it down with authority! That play set the tone as the Wolverines handily beat Magruder 81-64.

No. 2In the first quarter, Wise senior forward Darron Barnes goes behind the back to juke his defender and throws down a two handed dunk. The Pumas would end up beating Eleanor Roosevelt 86-72 to continue their perfect season.

No. 1Late in the 4th with Seneca Valley trailing Oakdale by 1, Senior Kareem Matthew hits the off balance jumper to give Seneca Valley the 53-52 victory over the Bears and the Maryland 3A west region championship!
