October 10th, 2016, 12:00 p.m. — High school football continues for all teams in the Washington, D.C. metro region. Week 6 saw many fantastic plays, including lengthy touchdown runs, great passes and game-winners.
Here are the Top 10 plays from the weekend:
No. 10: Dominion’s Vashon McCants takes a quarterback draw, makes a defender miss and goes 25 yards for a Titans touchdown. McCants would score 5 touchdowns in the game.
No. 9: Stone Bridge’s Kellis Martin blocks a field goal and teammate Tyrese Johnson scoops it up, going 94 yards for a touchdown.
No. 8: West Potomac’s Dejon Bellfield blocks a punt and takes it back for a touchdown in the Wolverines 47-40 win over West Springfield.
No. 7: Riverdale Baptist’s Terrell Blount breaks 4 tackles to score a touchdown against Bullis.
No. 6: St. Albans’ Charles Snowden catches a deep pass and breaks 3 tackles on his way to a 74-yard touchdown against Paul VI.
No. 5: Seneca Valley’s Adrian Platt catches a screen pass and takes it 45 yards for a touchdown making 4 defenders miss along the way.
No. 4: Oxon Hill’s Daniel George intercepts a pass late in the 4th quarter to seal the Clippers 12-7 win over C.H. Flowers.
No. 3: Wilson quarterback Steven Williams Jr. goes over the H.D. Woodson defense and flips into the endzone for a touchdown.
No. 2: Tuscarora’s Jaylon Lundy scores the go-ahead touchdown in overtime against Potomac Falls. The Titans defense would stop the Panthers on their possession, giving them the 24-17 victory.
No. 1: Briar Woods Sr. Ben Maffe squeaks into the endzone to give the Falcons the lead over Westfield in double overtime. The Bulldogs would respond with a touchdown but the Falcons stopped their 2-point conversion attempt, giving them the 35-34 upset victory.
